The virtual interview training of the ERC NCP addresses applicants for ERC Consolidator Grants who have been retained for step 2 of the evaluation and are invited to a virtual interview by the ERC Executive Agency. Our one-day (morning and optional afternoon session) online trainings are aimed at applicants with German Host Institutions, will be held in English, and are free of charge.
Part 1 – The aim of the morning session is to prepare candidates for a successful virtual interview, with advice from experts on presentation techniques, practical experience from successful candidates of previous interviews, and background information on the evaluation process (in particular, statistics on the current status of the evaluation). The morning session will take about 1.5 hours.
Part 2 – This optional afternoon session aims at practicing in depth the individual Q&A session and to give individual feedback from a professional rhetoric coach. Therefore, it will be mandatory for participants to prepare up to two questions for this part of the virtual interview training and to perform it during the simulation of the mock panel. The number of participants of this part is limited to six person, which prior participated in Part 1 (morning session). The afternoon session will take about 3.5 hours.
